Accounting and Finance has always been recognized a very key function in any organization and to all stakeholders.  It is so important that throughout the world there are legal obligations to have the accounting records kept properly. Information reports generated from these records can help every manager in the organization to make a more informed and effective decisions to increase their organizational performance as a whole.


Purpose of this workshop

The purpose of this workshop is therefore to enable non-financial personnel to:

1.                  Achieve an understanding of the various key components in a financial statement

2.                  Co-relate them to the health of the organization.



At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

2.                  Manage the accounts and finances more effectively

3.                  Interpret and relate the company’s financial state to its performance

4.                  Using financial information to make a more inform decision.


Workshop outline:

a)      The role and need of accounting in business:


b)      Financial Accounting  function.

i)                Processing of transactions and books of accounts

ii)               Financial Statement components in Manufacturing Account, Profit and Loss

Account, Balance Sheet and Cash flow statement


c)      Management Accounting functions

i)            Difference with Financial Accounting, purpose and uses.

ii)           Planning – such as strategic plans, budgeting and forecasting,

iii)         Costing methods, variance analysis, break even point calculation.

iv)         Capital Investment Evaluation.

v)          Interpret and understand the financial statement using trend and ratios and its indication on the health of the organization.


d)      Understand The Financial Environment:

i)          Equity; short, medium and long term financing and capital market instruments.

ii)         Financiers and gearings

iii)       Working Capital management and its impact on cash.

iv)       Self financing such as retained earning, dividend payments, provisions, etc.


Workshop Deliveries Methods

The sharing of his more than 25 years of knowledge, skill and real life practical experience gained at senior management level through his workshops, In-House Training/Facilitating and Consulting will benefit many managers in the above mentioned areas.
